I recently purchased a 1965 Goya T-16 that had been abused and neglected over the years. I am going to attempt to make it playable again. At some point, it was dropped on the treble side of the lower bout. Someone repaired the major portion of the damage, and the subsequent crack about 1.25 inches in from the edge. The crack appears to have been sealed and is no longer a problem. I would like to try and blend in the finish over the crack if possible but need to know what kind of finish is on this guitar. Does anyone here know what material was used as finish on these guitars? Is it lacquer, or shellac? Thanks in advance for any help! Attachments:
